VOLTRAIN can now offer funded staff training with minimal levels of bureaucracy or delay. The new flexible training offer covers units/thin qualifications in ten business critical areas:
- Business improvement techniques
- Business systems/processes
- Team-working/communications
- Finance and credit
- Risk management
- Marketing and sales
- Customer service
- New product design
- Cash flow and profit management
- IT user/IT support
Leadership and Management Training
VOLTRAIN can provide bespoke support for leadership and management provision that offers relevant, effective and challenging learning opportunities. A Skills Broker will carry out the organisational needs analysis (ONA) to assess the skills base and diagnose leadership and management needs. The funding available for L&M through Train to Gain is fairly straightforward and is available as follows:
- A total of £1000 is available, the first £500 is on a grant basis, the second £500 must be match funded by the employer
- A number of managers from each organisation can access the funding, though the first beneficiary should be the owne/top manager
Funding can be used to access any support or training identified in the leader/managers personal development plan, this can include:
- Coaching
- Mentoring
- Qualifications
- Non-qualification based training
Delivery
Training is delivered through workshop sessions and through coaching and development support in the ‘workplace’. Groups between 6-15 are typical, with some of the delivery on-line (eg IT User)
Assessment of competency against the NVQ standards is carried out in the workplace, through interview and observation, completion of assignments and building a portfolio of evidence.
NVQ level 2 qualifications typically take 6-9 months to achieve, with 5-6 workshops over this period.
NVQ level 3 qualifications typically take 9-15 months to achieve, with 5-6 workshops over this period.
Workshop dates and venues are subject to demand.
